Gregory Miller is a Registered Nurse who has cared for patients in intensive care units and emergency rooms in urban settings in St. Louis, Missouri and in California in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Oakland. Greg took care of some of the first patients with HIV and AIDS in Ward 86 at San Francisco General Hospital. After retiring from critical care, Greg worked for many years providing home care and hospice care for multiple African American organizations. He also spent time providing medical care to inmates in the county jail.
Greg is a health educator who teaches populations ranging from teenagers to seniors about preventive care for chronic medical conditions. He has also presented HIV and AIDS prevention classes to incarcerated persons. He has received awards recognizing his contributions to preserving the health of the African American community and for his commitment to social justice.
Greg joined the Navy at an early age and had the opportunity to travel the world, which helped him discover what life is really about. He has maintained a love of travel to this day. Greg has been to more than 10 countries in Africa supporting populations made vulnerable by the HIV/AIDS pandemic and was part of a team delivering HIV/AIDS medications to orphanages in Zimbabwe. Greg is married with three children, and he enjoys hiking, biking, and golf.
